In the footage, he is allegedly heard making derogatory and objectionable remarks about former Member of Parliament Usha Verma, former Member of Legislative Assembly Rajeshwari Devi, and their family members, sparking widespread outrage within political circles.
The video, reportedly recorded during a private conversation, captures Sharafat Ali using abusive language while discussing the two senior leaders and the family of late senior Samajwadi Party leader Parmailal. He is also heard making inappropriate references to the personal lives of the leaders, further intensifying the controversy.
In addition, Sharafat Ali is seen levying allegations that gambling activities were being operated at a residential premises associated with the family. Both leaders formally escalated the matter to the party’s national leadership and travelled to Lucknow to present a detailed complaint before senior officials.
Acting swiftly on the issue, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav took cognizance of the matter. On his direction, the state president ordered the dissolution of the entire Hardoi district executive committee. The move is being viewed as an attempt to enforce internal discipline and contain escalating factional tensions.
The development has triggered significant political upheaval in Hardoi, with party workers expressing discontent and opposition parties launching criticism against the Samajwadi Party. Attention is now focused on the party’s next course of action and the formation of a new district executive body amid ongoing internal instability.
